Hair Restoration

Whether you are a female tired of shaving a particular area of your body or a male with pattern baldness, there are now reliable and uncomplicated methods of taking care of the problem. With only mild discomfort, it is possible to regain confidence with a permanent hair treatment.

Hair Removal

Hair Removeal (Laser Epilation)There are two widely used methods for hair removal; electrolysis and laser removal. Both will require multiple sessions allowing the hair to grow back between sessions. In some cases the wait between sessions can be up to one month. Hair removal can be performed on virtually any hair bearing part of the body including arms, legs, bikini area, and back. Electrolysis involves an electrical current delivered to the hair follicle through a thin metal probe. This current causes localized damage to the areas that generate hair preventing re-growth. Laser hair removal utilizes a laser to dispense a fine intense beam of heated light that removes the hair follicles, but preserves the skin of the surrounding area.

Which hair removal method should I use?

Electrolysis provides longer lasting results but is time consuming and more painful as each follicle is treated individually. Compared to electrolysis, laser hair removal typically requires fewer treatments, less time per session, and less discomfort.

Hair Restoration

Hair restoration or hair replacement is actually a surgical procedure. The ultimate goal is to permanently correct male pattern baldness. Technically referred to as follicular unit transplantation (hair plugs), hundreds of hair micrografts are implanted on the bald area of the head to restore natural thickness. The donor follicles are ‘harvested’ from the back of the head where the hair tends to be more permanent. The donor site is stitched up leaving no visible scarring and a pressure dressing will be positioned over the donor site for proper healing. Three to four weeks following the surgery, the implanted hair will fall out allowing the new hair to grow back naturally.
